Oil or Shortening for deep frying | |||

4 | medium yellow onions, sliced 1/4-inch thick and separated into rings | ||

Mix flour, milk, egg, 1 tablespoon oil and salt in medium bowl. Beat with rotary beater just until smooth.
In large skillet, heat 1-inch oil or shortening until medium hot. Using a fork, dip onion rings into batter; drain off excess and fry in a single layer for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning once or twice while cooking.
